Bio (continued) -- Dr. Tayyab Rashid

Dr. Rashid’s dissertation explored malleability of VIA strengths through a systematic controlled intervention.  Dr. Rashid’s expertises include happiness, resilience and positive psychology training, with an emphasis on dealing with adversity, trauma and loss through strength-based approach.  VIA strengths feature prominently in Dr. Rashid’s work.  He helps clients to identify and article their strengths in a deep and genuine way and coaches them to use strengths in order to solve problems.  Dr. Rashid has extensively taught and trained a wide variety of professionals including mental health professional and business executives in VIA based happiness based interventions.  He also worked with Asian tsunami survivors and 9/11 families.  His research has won several awards and has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has also been featured in Wall Street Journal, Psychology Today, and the Globe and Mail.

As a native of Pakistan, and influenced by Sufi, yogic and Buddhist philosophy, Dr. Rashid advocates active and realistic search for the half-full portion of the proverbial glass to survive, thrive and flourish.
