VIA Assessments: VIA-120

VIA-120 (main assessment on VIA website used by the public):

This assessment was derived by Dr. Robert McGrath from the original VIA-240 by taking the 5 items for each scale with the highest corrected item-total correlations.  Average internal consistency reliability is .79 (very good) compared with a mean reliability of .83 for the VIA-IS. Initial validity coefficients are between .39 and .50 and are slightly lower than for the VIA-IS (click here for details).

The original VIA-IS (240-question version) has been translated into the following languages. The languages marked with an asterisk (*) are still considered "in development" because not enough survey takers have completed it to determine if the translation is reliable. To see the psychomectric data for the translation of the VIA-IS (240-question version) in a specific language click the language below. Researchers should use caution when using a survey translation that has not been reviewed for reliability.
