This assessment also was derived by Dr. Robert McGrath from the original VIA-IS by extracting the 3 most internally consistent items from each scale.  Internal consistency reliability is .75 on average, slightly lower than that for the VIA-120, and initial validity coefficients range from .36 to .48, again, slightly lower than those for the VIA-120.
