VIA Inventory of Strengths-P (VIA-IS-P), "VIA Survey"
Main assessment on VIA website used by the public
Aligned with the VIA Institute's mission to continue to advance the science of character, and in recognizing a number of opportunities to improve the original scales, Robert McGrath, Ph.D., VIA Senior Scientist, has completed a substantial, 2-year revision of the VIA Inventory of Strengths, as well as the development of several new scales. These new instruments are called the VIA Assessment Suite for Adults. A Technical Report describing the VIA Assessment Suite for Adults is available. See the VIA Assessments page for more details about the virtue scales and signature strengths.
The VIA-IS-P was developed using the same strategy as the VIA-IS-M except all items are keyed in the positive direction. This version is for use when negatively keyed items may be a source of confusion for the test-taker. For example, an item might read "I tend to be happy and energized" rather than "I tend to not be happy and energized". Again, 24 strengths scale scores are reported as are 9 virtue scales and signature strengths.
