You will also receive your personalized Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report to explore your scores on the 5 key mindfulness skills.

Dr. Ryan Niemiec
Ryan M. Niemiec, PsyD, is author or co-author of nine books, an award-winning psychologist and a widely traveled international speaker. Ryan is the creator of MBSP and has led hundreds of mindfulness groups over the last two decades. As education director of the global nonprofit, VIA Institute on Character, he's a leading voice in the education, research, and practice of character strengths. He lives with his family, which includes three young and zestful children, near Cincinnati, Ohio.

How is the Mindfulness and Strengths in Daily Life course different from the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP)?

Mindfulness and Strengths in Daily Life is an on-demand course, open to anyone, that teaches the integration of mindfulness and character strengths. It is self-led so participants can engage with the materials at their own pace. It is perfect for anyone newly interested in learning about mindfulness and strengths. Mindfulness and Strengths in Daily Life is based on the 8-week, research-based Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice program typically offered live by VIA, but does not include the extensive group work, some of the exercises/meditation/activities, or the retreat that is included in MBSP.

How do I access my Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report that is included in the course?

The Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report is derived from your results of the VIA Survey and the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, both can be completed on your VIA Account. After registering for the Mindfulness and Strengths in Daily Life course you will receive a credit to download your personalized report. You can sign in to your VIA account, choose the Mindfulness Report in the drop-down menu on your My Account page and follow the steps to complete the surveys and use your credit to download your report. *Only one report credit can be applied to one set of VIA Survey and Mindfulness Questionnaire results.

What if I already purchased my Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report? Can I just buy the course?

The Mindfulness and Strengths in Daily Life Course always includes a Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report. You can download the report immediately or save this as a report credit on your account. If you've previously purchased your Mindfulness Report we suggest you keep the report credit until you've completed the 8 session course. At the conclusion of the course you can retake the 5 Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire and use the credit to download another Mindfulness and Character Strengths Report. We encourage you to compare your two reports and explore how your mindfulness scores have changed as a result of your work within the course.

Will I have handouts that I can keep and review at a later date?

Yes, in each module there are PDF handouts that you can download for the practical exercises that we recommend.
